The Crib mattress size is 27×52(inch), the area is 9.8 sf., which is a firmer mattress that nestles within the rails of a standard crib. Crib mattresses are smaller than a Twin-sized mattresses and are usually thinner as well.

  • What is a split mattress?

Split mattress is usually on Eastern King and California King mattress. They  are the same sizes as their non-split counterpart, but it’s divided into two mattresses. This design can be beneficial when using an adjustable base or to limit motion transfer from partner movements.

  • What’s the difference between a Twin and Single mattress?

None. These two terms are used interchangeably. Twin and Single mattresses are the same size.

  • What’s the difference between Full and Double?

None. These two terms are used interchangeably. Full and Double mattresses are the same size.

  • Is the California King mattress bigger than the Eastern King?

The California King mattress is 4″ narrowed, but 4″ longer as well. Looking at square footage surface area, the Eastern King mattress is technically bigger than the California King (42.2 sf. vs. 42.0 sf.). However, for most sleepers, the California King will feel bigger because it is longer.

  • What are the different types of mattresses?

Mattresses come in various styles which affect how they feel. When it comes to coil mattresses the most popular types are traditional, Euro-Top, and Pillow-Top mattresses.

Traditional mattresses are the most basic and are ideal for back and stomach sleepers. Euro-top and Pillow-Top mattresses have an extra layer of padding on top which provides extra cushion for your shoulders and hips if you sleep on your side.

When it comes to mattresses without coils, we have regular foam mattresses which are the most basic type. These are simple with a foam core and softer foam top for comfort.

Memory foam mattresses have a foam core and a memory foam layer on top which helps take the shape of your body for ultimate pressure relief. Latex mattresses are similar but use latex instead and can even be made entirely out of latex.

Lastly, we have hybrid mattress which are usually a combination of a pocket coil and memory foam top. Try them all out and see which one you prefer better!

  • What's better, coil or foam mattresses?

The most common mattress dilemma is which is better, foam or coil. Ultimately, they are both good, and it really comes down to personal preference. They do feel different. Some people like the feeling of a memory foam mattresses while others are accustomed to a coil mattress.

Which one lasts longer? Both should last the same amount of time if comparing within the same price range and quality. The biggest difference between coil and foam mattresses is that foam mattresses tend to trap more heat. Although the cooling memory foam layers do help, a coil mattress will always have more breathability and air flow due to its design.

If you are an extremely hot sleeper stay away from foam mattresses. For most people, room temperature and lighter sheets are sufficient to regulate their sleeping temperature. Try them all out and see what you prefer better!

  • What type of coils are there in a mattress?

The two most popular coil types are continuous innerspring and pocket coil.

Continuous innerspring coils are more traditional and involve one wire that is wound up to form the coils in the mattress. Innerspring mattresses tend to be less expensive, but they are bouncier. You will feel more partner movement on a continuous coil mattress compared to a pocket coil mattress.

Pocket coils are the most popular coil types in spring mattresses. Each coil in individually wrapped and moves independently. This means is when one person gets into bed or moves in the middle of the night, the partner on the other side does not feel the movement. This is because each coil moves separately and does not affect the surrounding coils.

  • What are the types of foam mattresses?

Foam mattresses can be separated into 3 basic categories. Foam, Memory Foam, and Latex.

Foam mattresses are the most basic and usually involve a firmer foam core and sometimes a softer foam layer on top for comfort.

Memory Foam mattresses have a firmer foam core with memory foam on top. The thickness and density of the memory foam ranges from various models which affects how the mattress feels. Lastly, we have latex mattresses. Latex is a little more “bouncy” compared to memory foam, and it is by far more resilient to wear and tear.

Latex mattresses can also have a foam core with latex on top or be made entirely out of latex. Latex and memory foam are the most expensive components of a mattress so the more of these materials there are inside, and the higher the quality, the more expensive the mattress will be.

  • Are Pillow-Top mattresses softer than traditional mattresses?

Pillow-Top and Euro-Top mattresses can be softer than traditional mattresses. This is because the Pillow-Top and Euro-Top is an extra layer on top of the mattress for added comfort.

If the layer is made with soft foam, then the mattress will feel softer overall. Although some traditional mattresses can be soft as well, there is less material in between you and the coils and therefor a softer traditional mattress can break down faster and become uncomfortable if you start to feel the coils. Most traditional mattresses are made to be firm or extra firm to avoid this problem.

If you prefer a softer mattress go for a Pillow-Top or Euro-Top over a traditional mattress as it will last longer.

  • Should I get a firmer mattress or a softer mattress?

Firmness is very subjective and really depends on the individual. Some people prefer a softer mattress while other prefer to sleep on an extra firm mattress.

If you sleep on your side you may prefer a softer mattress because it will cause less pressure on your shoulders and hips.

If you sleep on your stomach or back you may prefer a firmer mattress to provide you with added support. Every mattress breaks down over time and becomes a little bit softer over the years.

Buying a mattress that is super soft may not be the best option as it will only get softer over time and may lack the needed support after a few years. Ultimately it’s your personal choice to decide what feels better for you, Firm or Soft.

  • How does my sleep position affect the mattress I should buy?

The way you sleep at night can affect which mattress you should buy. If you sleep on you stomach or back, you may prefer a firmer mattress to give you the most support for you back and body.

If you sleep on your side, you may prefer a softer mattress so that you have extra cushion and pressure relief for your shoulders and hips. Traditional mattresses tend to be firmer and better for stomach and back sleepers.

  • Should I try a mattress before I buy it?

It is especially important to try a new mattress out before you buy to ensure that it will be comfortable and suitable for your needs. You can read all the reviews, details, descriptions, and specifications on mattresses online, but you will never really know how a mattress feels until you lie down on it. You may buy a mattress and it may work for you, but until you try out as many mattresses as possible you will never really get to know which mattress is the best one for you.

We spend an average of 8 hours a day sleeping on our mattress. There are not many other things we use as frequently in our daily lives as much as we use our mattresses. With such an important investment which affects your sleep and daily life, it is worth taking the time and effort to really see all your options and pick the best one for your needs!

  • How to try a mattress in a mattress store?

When visiting a mattress store it may feel a little awkward lying down on beds especially with a salesperson standing right over you. However, it is especially important that you try out the mattresses properly to determine which one is best for you.

Tell the salesperson to leave you alone for a few minutes if you feel uncomfortable. Do not just sit on the edge of a mattress to see how it feels. Sitting on a mattress does not feel the same as lying down. Get right onto the mattress with your feet up to get the best feel of a mattress. Try lying down in different positions as you would at home to see how the mattress really feels. Take your time.

Do not get on and off right away. Spend a few minutes on each mattress and try out as many as you can before deciding on the one that is right for you!

Part III: Intermediate Mattress Guide

  •  What are the signs that it is time to replace the mattress?

Depending on your personal preference, there are a number of factors that may come into play when deciding to get a new mattress.

  1. when your mattress does not provide a good night's sleep
  2. When your current mattress sags in the middle
  3. When the coils / springs of your current mattress are uncomfortable
  4. When you wake up with a sore back or stiff muscles

  7. When the mattress becomes noisy or squeaky
  8. When your current mattress reaches 8 to 10 years old
  9. When there are many stains on the mattress
  10. When your doctor recommends it
  11. When you want a bigger mattress
  • What factors are most important in a new mattress?

The most important factor you should think about the mattress is the suitable firmness of mattress. Firmness is king factor with 86% of sleepers identifying it as a critically important factor. All shoppers agreed that transparency in mattress construction and materials as well as the health benefits of a mattress also played a role in whether or not they felt promoted to buy a mattress.

  • What mattress size Is right for me?

  • Do the mattresses need a box spring?

If you need a box spring depends on the bed frame you have. The platform bed which always has 13 to 15 slats doesn't need a box spring or foundation, but the bed frame with 3 to 5 slats. needs a box spring or foundation.  Sunny Homeplus' warranty policy states that mattresses should be placed on a supportive bed frame.

  • What are the different types of box springs?

Box springs are usually made of wood, or metal wire, or both.

Typically, wooden box springs are heavier than metal box springs. Wooden box springs can also squeak after some time as the wood expands and contracts with different temperatures and humidity levels in your home. For the most part it is an easy fix by pushing the pieces together again firmly to stop the squeaking.

Box springs with a metal wire almost always have a wooden frame at the bottom, and the metal wire is more prone to bending on the sides if you step on it, or sit on the edge of your bed constantly.

Typically, all box springs do the same job in keeping your mattress supported and off the ground, and there are very minor differences in terms of quality and longevity.

  • What to do if my box spring does not fit up my stairs?

When bringing a mattress up the stairs or through a tight hallway or doorway, you can bend the mattress and squeeze it through because mattresses are flexible. You do not have this option with a box spring since it is a solid piece.

All king size box springs come in 2 pieces. This is because most people would not be able to fit a full king size box spring into their room without squeezing and bending along the way! This is called a king split box spring.

Queen box springs also come in split versions! If you are having trouble bringing a full size queen box spring through a hallway or up the stairs you can opt for a queen split box spring which will make your life a lot easier by bringing in 2 separate smaller pieces instead!

  • Do I need a new box spring with my new mattress?

A Box Spring is required for support of your mattress and to raise the mattress to your desired height. If your bedframe has enough slats or a platform that is supportive enough for your mattress you will not need a box spring.

You could however put a box spring on top of your slats or platform if you require additional height. If you have a bedframe that is hollow in the middle or does not provide enough support to distribute the weight of the mattress, you will require a box spring.

Many times, an old box spring will outlive an old mattress. If your old box spring is in good shape and it is not broken, you can go ahead and use if with your new mattress!

  • What is the difference between Euro-Top and Pillow-Top?

Euro-Top and Pillow-Top are 2 terms used interchangeably, but they do have slight differences. The biggest difference is in the way they are stitched.

A Euro-Top mattress is stitched flat and even with the side of the mattress. A Pillow-Top mattress is stitched a little bit under the Pillow-Top giving it that look of a pillow on top of the mattress.

Other than that, the differences are minimal. Once you put your sheets on you may never see a difference. Both Euro-Top and Pillow-Top mattress can come in various firmness levels from plush to extra firm. Its mostly esthetic so do not overthink it too much! You should not be set on one over the other.

  • What are the types of mattresses on the market?

There are many different types of mattresses on the market and it can be hard to distinguish the differences. The four main types of mattresses include: Foam, Hybrids, Coil-on-Coil/Innerspring, and Specialty.

  • Types of Foam Mattresses

Within the foam category, there are 4 major types, including: Combo Foam, Memory Foam, Latex Foam, and Poly Foam.

  • What type of mattress do I need?

There are four main different types of mattress—foam, coil, hybrid, or specialty. Understanding the differences between the mattress types is the first step in choosing the best mattress for your needs.

  • What is Combo foam?

Combo foam includes a huge range of mattress types, but at its core, all of these mattresses have a layer or layers of comfort foam and a base of higher-density support foam.

  • What is poly foam?

Poly foam is the shortened name for polyurethane foams. Poly foam offers a faster response time and is oftentimes stacked with other foams to balance out the feel.

  • What is a Combo foam mattress?

Combo foam mattress uses a blend of memory foam, latex foam, poly foam, and support foam. Using a combination of foams, these mattresses can generate a unique feel by picking up on the pros of each material and balances out the cons.

  • What Is Memory Foam?

Memory foam, or viscoelastic polyurethane foam, exhibits a combination of elastic and flow-like behavior. Simply put, it can stretch or change its shape and return to its initial form once the pressure is removed.

All memory foam is poly foam. But not all poly foam is memory foam. Memory foam is a type of polyurethane foam that is characterized by its viscoelastic properties. Memory foam usually has a denser feel, deeper hug, and slower response.

  • Types of Memory Foam

Traditional memory foam, Open-cell memory foam, Gel-infused memory foam, Plant-based memory foam, and Copper-infused memory foam

  • What Is Traditional Memory foam?

Traditional memory foam has a similar composition as the original memory foam used for mattresses in the ’90s. It molds to the body shape and takes some of the pressure off your joints but tends to trap heat.

  • What Is Open-cell memory foam?

Open-cell memory foam allows for better airflow than traditional memory foam. Its composition is similar to that of polyfoam.

  • What Is Gel-infused memory foam?

Gel-infused memory foam features small gel microbeads to prevent overheating.

  • What Is Plant-based Memory foam?

Plant-based memory foam is an eco-friendly alternative to petroleum-based foam. The products made from this material contain a blend of polyester or natural latex and plant fibers, such as bamboo.

  • What Is Copper-infused memory foam?

Copper-infused memory foam is a new material that claims to dissipate excess body heat. It is said that it also wards off bacteria and prevents allergic reactions.

  • Graphite Foam

Graphite Foam is infused with graphite for lower density and higher thermal diffusivity.

  • What are the Benefits of Memory Foam?

Promotes good spine alignment — Memory foam molds to your body shape and distributes your weight evenly, supporting the natural curve of your spine. However, spine alignment also depends on your sleeping position.

Limits motion transfer — This material isolates motion, meaning that your sleep won’t be disturbed if your partner is tossing and turning in bed. You can see a side-by-side comparison of latex vs. memory foam motion transfer here.

Reduces pressure on the spine and joints — Memory foam may help relieve pain and aches by keeping your weight evenly distributed. In a small study, subjects who slept on memory foam pillows while undergoing chiropractic treatment had a greater reduction in chronic neck pain compared to those who only received treatment.

May improve comfort during sleep — Some people find memory foam mattresses and pillows more comfortable than their traditional counterparts due to their softness.

Retains body heat — Cold sleepers often prefer memory foam over other materials due to its ability to hold onto heat. However, its heat retention properties can be a drawback for those who tend to warm up at night.

Increased durability — This material is durable and can last for years with proper care.    High-quality memory foam mattresses have a lifespan of 10 years or longer, depending on their composition, foam density, and thickness.

  • What is memory foam good for?

Memory foam is good for deeper compression, more hug and contour, and improved pressure relief.

  • What is the difference between memory foam and regular foam?

Memory foam is known for its viscoelasticity. This is the foam’s ability to contour around an object (i.e.: your body when it lies on the bed), and then return to its natural form and shape once the pressure is no longer applied. Some regular foam may also be viscoelastic, but not all. All memory foam is viscoelastic.

  •  What are the Benefits of Memory Foam mattress?

Memory foam mattresses typically offer higher levels of hug and contour as well as a slower response time. Memory foam mattresses offer exceptionally good pressure relief and lot motion transfer.

  • What is Open Cell Foam?

Open Cell Foam is created when an inflating agent is added to the foam during its creation. This additive allows air to fill the gaps where the foam was originally, creating a lighter foam that is more breathable and more responsive as well.

  • What is Convoluted Foam?

With convoluted foam, the shape of the foam has a wave or egg-crate-like pattern on one side, which allows air to pass through more easily.

  • What is Perforated Foam?

Perforated Foam has two flat sides, unlike convoluted foam, but the surface of the foam has been perforated with hundreds of holes that span through the top and bottom. These holes are also for better airflow and faster response.

  • What is Natural latex foam?

Natural latex comes in a liquid form and is extracted from rubber trees. Natural latex foam is more responsive than classic memory foam and offers higher levels of bounce and excellent cooling performance. Natural latex is generally thought of as being more healthy, eco-friendly, and sustainable.

Latex foam is foam derived from the natural sap of a latex tree and can be classified by two names—Dunlop latex or Talalay latex. Latex tree sap is processed and manufactured to become a usable foam for mattresses. Latex foam is oftentimes perforated for better performance and is known for its exceptional cooling and fast response time.

  • What is latex foam?

  • What is Synthetic latex?

Synthetic latex is typically made from a blend of latex and poly foam materials.

  • How is Latex foam created?

Latex foam is created with one of two basic processes, Dunlop and Talalay.  Dunlop latex is less expensive to produce, but also denser and generally more firm. Talalay latex is more complex to manufacture but can be notably softer than Dunlop.

  • What is Hybrid mattress?

Hybrid mattress uses a combination of foam with a more traditional coil base. Combining coils and foam, the resulting mattress typically has better edge support and better cooling because of coils, while also maintaining more restrained levels of bounce and limited motion transfer because of foam.

  • What is a coil mattress?

There are many different types of coil mattresses. However, the three most common types include Pocketed coils, Coil-on-coil, Innerspring.

  • What are Pocketed coils?

Each coil is wrapped in fabric or foam to create a more precise level of contour, lower motion transfer, and better support.

  • What is a Coil-on-coil mattress?

Coil-on-coil mattresses use only coils to provide comfort and support. These coils can be individually encased in fabric or connected together.

  • What factors affect the overall comfort of the mattress?

The gauge of wire used for the coils, as well as height, and the number of coils all affect the overall comfort of the mattress.

  • How long do mattresses last?

Mattress lifespan depends on a number of factors, but here is a rough span of how long you can expect each mattress to last, based on type:

  1. Innerspring: 5-8 years
  2. Memory Foam: 8-10 years
  3. Hybrid: 10-12 years
  4. Natural Latex: 10-15 years
    • What is your budget?

Knowing how much you are willing to spend on a good mattress is an important part of deciding which mattress is best for you. A good mattress doesn’t have to be expensive. But Luxury mattresses offer things like advanced cooling, better materials, improved build quality, and better support.

    1. Picks for Budget: mattresses under $1000 (queen-size)
    2. Picks for Value: mattresses between $1000 – $1500 (queen-size)
    3. Picks for Luxury: mattresses over $1500 (queen-size)
    • Which price range is a better choice for me?

Avoid choosing a mattress that costs less than $800 for a Queen. Anything below that threshold and we start to see significant problems with longevity, material quality and build quality. Also, avoid choosing a mattress that costs more than $1800 for a Queen. In the vast majority of cases, mattresses over that price are not offering improved quality, performance, or materials. You are simply paying for a fancy brand name.

        • What kind of mattress is good for me if I am a back-sleeper?

Back sleepers generally require a firmer mattress than others may prefer. Lying on your back, you need support along the entire length of your spine. Lack of support can cause back pain or neck pain, leading to years of discomfort and spinal misalignment.

        • What kind of mattress is good for me if I am a side sleeper?

Side sleepers generally need something softer than back sleepers. When sleeping on your side, it is pretty typical to move around a bit more. Side sleepers can rotate during sleep, switching leg position (straight vs. bent) and even switching sides entirely.

Softer mattresses are beneficial for side sleepers since they generally have more contour and hug. This helps the mattress to react to the varying pressure points that side sleepers have.

When you lie on your side, your back, hips, neck, and legs all generate a different amount of pressure. The best mattress for side sleepers responds to these varying degrees of pressure and supports accordingly.

        • What kind of mattress is good for me if I am a stomach sleeper?

Stomach sleepers generally need to be as flat as possible in order to be comfortable and avoid painful pressure points. Firmer mattresses provide better spinal alignment and prevent unwanted sag or sinkage.

        • What kind of mattress is good for me if I am under 150 lbs

Lighter back sleepers may prefer something on the softer side of this range while heavier sleepers may prefer something on the firmer side.

As with back sleepers, heavier weight side sleepers generally need a slightly firmer feel. While lighter-weight side sleepers tend to need a slightly softer feel.

Similar to other types of sleepers, lighter stomach sleepers may be able to get away with a softer mattress without sacrificing support. But heavier stomach sleepers should consider a firmer mattress.

        • What kind of mattress is good for me if I am a lightweight person?

As with back sleepers, heavier weight side sleepers generally need a slightly firmer feel. While lighter-weight side sleepers tend to need a slightly softer feel.

Similar to other types of sleepers, lighter stomach sleepers may be able to get away with a softer mattress without sacrificing support. But heavier stomach sleepers should consider a firmer mattress.

        • What firmness do I need?

To help determine what firmness is right for you, you’ll need to consider your weight and sleeping position.

        • What if my partner and I can’t agree?

If you and your partner want very different things in a mattress, you may want to consider a split mattress that allows each of you to have the ideal mattress.

        • Is it better to sleep on a firm or soft mattress?

The best mattress for you depends on your bodyweight, sleeping position, and personal preference. • What firmness of mattress do hotels use?

Hotel mattresses are oftentimes a medium firmness to appeal to the widest range of sleepers possible.

        • How do I make a soft bed harder?

To change the firmness of a mattress without buying a completely new mattress, consider adding a mattress topper. Adding a topper can help make a soft bed feel firmer as well as make a firm bed feel softer.

        • What is mattress firmness?

Mattress firmness is how soft or firm a mattress feels when sleepers lie in a horizontal position. The exact firmness may vary between different sleepers, as it is a bit subjective.

        • Why is mattress firmness important?

Mattress firmness is important because how soft or firm a mattress is directly determines how comfortable and supportive you may find it. Mattress firmness also determines if you will have adequate support where you need it.

        • Are mattress firmness and mattress support the same things?

No. Mattress firmness and mattress support are not the same things. Firmness is how soft or firm a mattress feels when you lie on it. Support is how the mattress is able to support your body, avoid pressure points, and keep your spine in alignment.

        • What level of firmness should my mattress be?

Sunny Homeplus make many different firmness mattresses for different people. The three most important factors that should be considered when picking a firmness are: Sleeping Position, Body Weight, and Personal Preference.

        • How do I know if my bed is too soft?

A mattress that is too soft may have excessive sinkage, deeper than desired contour, and leave you feeling unsupported. A mattress that is too soft can also cause improper spinal alignment. This can result in waking up with lower back pain, shoulder neck, and/or neck pain.

        • How do I know if my bed is too firm?

If your mattress is too firm, you may wake with back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain, or cramps. This is often due to poor spinal alignment while you sleep. Mattresses that are too firm most often push the spine out of a neutral alignment in a side sleeping position. This creates pressure points during the night that builds into pain.

        • How do I know what type of mattress is best for me?

You’ll know by determining your primary sleeping positions and weighing yourself. Heavier sleepers tend to need a slightly firmer feel, so as to create more support. Lighter weight sleepers tend to need a slightly softer feel, so as to create more pressure relief.

Side sleepers need slightly more softness, while back and stomach sleepers need slightly more firmness.

Ultimately, it is the combination of your weight and sleeping position that shows you more precising the ideal firmness for you.

        • Is it better to sleep on a firm mattress?

The best mattress for you depends on your bodyweight, sleeping position, and personal preference. Generally heavier sleepers require a bit firmer mattress and lighter sleepers prefer a softer mattress. Side sleepers often like softer mattresses as well and back or stomach sleepers prefer something firmer.

        • How often should I replace my mattress?

Most mattresses last between 8-12 years. The exact lifespan can vary depending on mattress type and material quality, also on how well you are sleeping on a regular basis. For example, you may wake up tired for no obvious reason or have back pain in the morning.

        • How do mattresses last?

It depends on the model, foam density, and materials used, among other factors. Generally, the standard lifespan of a mattress is around 8-12 years. The highest quality models can last for up to 15 years.

        • What will affect the mattress lifespan?

Generally, the factors that affect the lifespan of a mattress include:

        1. Usage: The more you use your mattress, the shorter its lifespan.
        2. Mattress Care: Dust, debris, stains, and bacteria can all affect the lifespan of your mattress.
        3. Foam Density: If you want a durable mattress, choose one with a PCF of at least 1.8, with 2.0 PCF or higher being ideal.
        4. Type of Coil: Generally, mattresses with Marshall (pocketed) coils have a longer lifespan than those with Bonnell coils, the most widely used design.
        5. Coil Gauge: A coil gauge of 12-13 is thicker and more durable than a higher gauge. However, it’s also a firmer coil.
        6. Type of Mattress: classic Pillow-Top mattresses only last for five to six years. In general, a pillow top will develop indents more quickly compared to other types of mattresses.
        7. Body Weight: As experts said, your mattress will wear out faster than normal if you’re placing 250 pounds or more on it. If you’re on the heavier side, you may need to replace the mattress more often compared to a lighter person.
        8. Sleep Position: Whether you’re a back sleeper, side sleeper, or stomach sleeper, you probably use certain areas of the mattress more often than others. Over time, those spots can wear out because of the increased pressure.
          • What happens to an old mattress after 10 years?

Permanent indentations, Tears or rips, Sagging, Noisy springs, Excessive softening, Persistent stains and smells.

          • What Influences the Cost of a Mattress?

What you’ll pay depends on the mattress quality and other factors, such as:

          1. Mattress size
          2. Brand name
          3. Materials and design
          4. Features
          5. Online vs. in-store purchases or in factory
          • How much should I spend on a new mattress?

What you’ll pay depends on the mattress quality and other factors, such as:

          1. Mattress size
          2. Brand name
          3. Materials and design
          4. Features
          5. Online vs. in-store purchases or in factory
          • Do mattresses get softer over time?

Generally yes. Most mattresses have a tendency to get softer over time, whether that be from foam breaking down or springs weakening. Over time, this can cause some extra sinkage or sag on the mattress, although most mattresses provide warranties to protect from excessive sag.

          • Which foam mattress is best?

Depending on what you’re looking for, each mattress has distinct advantages and disadvantages. For contour and hug, go with memory foam. For response and a balanced feel go with poly foam. For bounce and natural materials, go with latex foam.

          • Do foam mattresses last as long as spring?

Generally, foam mattresses can be expected to last 10-15 years. A spring mattress lasts 7-10 years. And a hybrid would be somewhere in the middle—10-12 years. All that being said, the exact lifespan of any mattress depends on who is sleeping on it and other environmental factors.

          • What is a pillowtop?

A pillowtop has a top layer that is visually separate from the rest of the mattress—like a pillow sitting on top.

A mattress with a pillowtop has extra top layers, but there is a gap between the pillowtop and the rest of the mattress.

Pillowtop mattresses have a deeper hug and sometimes have poorer edge support just because of the the many top layers.

          • What is a Euro Top?

A Euro Top, also known as Euro Cover and Euro style pillowtop, has similar materials as a pillow top, but it is functionally and aesthetically different. With a Euro Top, the big top layers are sewn with the edge of the mattress instead of having a break.

A Euro Top (as Euro Top, as Euro Style Pillowtop) has a few top layers sewn together, within the layers of the rest of the mattress. There is no visual separation.

          • What is a quilted panel?

A quilted panel has plush layers including foam, cotton, wool, and other textiles quilted into the top fabric so that it acts and performs as a single layer.

They are not typically as thick as a pillow top or Euro cover, but do add some softness to the overall feel of the mattress.

          • Are plush mattresses unsupportive?

Not always. The level of support provided by a mattress depends on a mix of firmness, material composition, material density, and sleeper weight. Just because the feel is soft, does not mean that a plush mattress will not provide support.

          • Does rotating my mattress help?

Yes, rotating your mattress can help to prevent sagging or uneven wear on the mattress.

          • When should I rotate my mattress?

Generally speaking, you should rotate the mattress in the first 3 months and then every 6 months after that.

          • What happens if I rotate your mattress?

Rotating your mattress is a good way to utilize the full surface of the mattress and ensure it wears evenly, especially if you do not sleep with a partner or if you and your partner are drastically different sizes or weights.

          • Do I have to rotate your mattress?

Rotating your mattress is a good way to utilize the full surface of the mattress and ensure it wears evenly, especially if you do not sleep with a partner or if you and your partner are drastically different sizes or weights.

          • What does it mean to “rotate a mattress”?

When you hear this phrase, it means to turn the mattress 180° from its original position. The part of the mattress that was once the foot of the bed is now the head of the bed.

          • What are zoned mattresses?

Zoned mattresses are designed to sleep one way—head at the top, feet at the bottom.

Unlike traditional support systems, which are consistent across the surface of the mattress, a zoned support system varies.

Zoned mattresses have anywhere from 3-7 different zones that react to surface pressure differently and span from head to toe.

          • What is a comfort Layer?

The comfort layer can be made of memory foam, poly foam, micro-coils, pocketed coils, latex, or other organic or manmade materials. This layer is designed for contour, comfort, and pressure relief.

          • Should I flip my mattress?

Probably not. Generally speaking, mattresses follow the traditional makeup of three consistent layers. They have a cover, a comfort layer, and a support layer. Because of the nature of how these layers are put together, you cannot flip the mattress over and receive the same support that you receive when used as intended. However, some mattresses that are designed both side should be flipped every 6 months, this kind mattress is called Flippable Mattress.

          • How do I know if my mattress is flippable?

Flippable mattresses will have a comfort layer on both sides of the mattress.

          • Can I flip a non-flip mattress?

No. If you were to flip a non-flippable mattress, you would be sleeping on the bottom side of the hardest support materials within the mattress. At the same time, you would not have comfort materials as the support layer. This would create worse support, worse comfort, and a terrible sleeping experience.

          • How to extend the life of my mattress?

Rotating a mattress or flipping a mattress can be effective ways to extend the lifespan and prevent sagging or uneven wear. However, as with anything, be sure to check the fine print from the manufacturer.

          • Can I put a mattress on the floor?

Yes. Putting your mattress directly on a solid floor provides even, consistent support to the mattress and helps to eliminate the chance of any sagging. But think about hygiene and humidity. To avoid these issues, consider adding a mattress encasement onto the mattress.

          • What is a mattress encasement?

A mattress encasement is a 6-sided product that zips over your entire mattress and encloses it fully. This helps to keep the mattress clean and fresh for longer.

          • What happens if I put the mattress on the floor?

A mattress directly on the floor is exposed to more particles like dust, dirt, bacteria, insects, and other microscopic floor-dwellers. When a mattress is on the floor, it makes it more difficult for air to circulate around and through the mattress. In humid environments, that can mean that mold or mildew can collect under your mattress and eventually cause big problems. In addition, placing some mattresses directly on the floor may void the mattress warranty.

          • What is the price policy or price guarantee?

If you get a lower price, even if it sounds like a really great deal, bring it to us and we will immediately beat it.

          • Is foundation the same thing as a box spring?

Both foundation and box spring are designed to support a mattress. They are usually made of different materials and at different price points though so they are not identical. Traditional box springs were made of springs. Foundations are usually wooden.

          • Do I need a box spring if I have a foundation?

In most cases no. Unless the manufacturer specifically requires the use of a box spring, a foundation should provide sufficient support for the mattress.

          • Does a foundation need a bed frame?

It depends on the kind of foundation you select. Some foundations are designed to sit within a larger bed frame, while others are designed with a platform base to sit directly on the floor.

          • Can I skip foundation or boxspring?

You may be able to skip foundation or boxspring if:

          1. The manufacturer does not require it.
          2. You have a solid platform bed frame.
          3. The bed frame has slats that are close together.
          4. You added another support, like rolled slats, bunkie board, etc.
            • What are types of boxs pring?

There are two basic types of box spring.

            1. Coil Box Spring: uses traditional coils across the majority of the area, often combined with a wooden frame for support
            2. Modern Box spring: has a metal or wood frame with horizontal pieces that span across the width of the boxs pring. These slats support the mattress above, in the same way that the coil box spring works.
              • Do all box spring have springs?

No. Despite the name, a box spring does not actually need springs. Support can be provided by wood, metal, or a composite material along the frame and a few slats across the width. The approach still creates a “box”, but skips the springs.

              • What is a box spring vs. foundation?

Box Spring and foundation are often designed with a similar end goal—to support the mattress above it. And all technicalities aside, they tend to look pretty similar on the outside. But they are very different inside.

Technically, a box spring is a wooden or metal “box” framework with springs or coils that span the entire width and length.

A foundation is also a wooden or metal “box” framework, but does not include the coils or any other material inside.

              • How high should my bed be from the floor?

The exact height may vary between individual sleepers, but in general, a bed between 22-26″ high is considered comfortable for most sleepers.

              • Is it okay to put a box spring on the floor?

Yes. A traditional box spring will allow for support and ventilation between the floor and your mattress. This addresses all of the “cons” of placing your mattress directly on the floor without the aesthetics or added cost of buying a traditional bed frame.

              • Will putting my mattress on the floor void my warranty?

You definitely want to check with the manufacturer before putting your mattress directly on the floor. In some cases, this voids the warranty so if you try to make any claims down the road, the damage would not be covered.

              • What goes under a mattress?

Most modern mattresses don’t require a box spring, but if your frame doesn’t have adequate support, you may still want something. Consider a low-profile box spring, bunkie board, or reinforced slat system for additional support.

              • What is a Mattress Pad?

A mattress pad is a thin layer of fabric that sits on top of your mattress or mattress topper, under a fitted sheet.

              • What are Mattress Protectors?

Mattress Protectors look like fitted sheets, which cover the top and sides of a mattress, protecting it from stains, dust, bodily fluids, and spills.

              • What is a mattress pad made from?

A mattress pad can be made from different materials, such as: Cotton, Poly-cotton blends,  Synthetic fibers, like rayon, nylon, or polyester, Feathers, Down, Microfiber, Wool, Bamboo.

              • What is the purpose of a mattress pad?

The purpose of a mattress pad is to modify the firmness level at the surface of the mattress. This can make the mattress softer or firmer. A mattress pad can also serve as a layer of protection as well.

              • What is the difference between a mattress topper and pad?

A mattress pad and topper both add extra comfort and are designed to adjust the feel. Mattress pads are usually thinner (0-2″) and mattress toppers are usually thicker (2-4″).

              • What is the best thing to clean your mattress with?

Cleaning supplies should be prepared. These may include: Baking soda, White vinegar, Liquid dish detergent, Enzymatic cleaners, Table salt, Hydrogen peroxide, Spray bottles and bowls, Essential oils (optional). Note that you may not need everything on this list.

Table salt, for instance, should only be used if your mattress has blood stains. Simply mix it with cold water, apply it to the stain, and clean the area with a slightly damp cloth after a few minutes. For other options, see our guide on how to remove blood stains from a mattress.

If you’re dealing with wine, vomit, or urine stains, you may need an enzymatic cleaner. Powdered laundry detergent may work, too.

              • How to keep my mattress clean year-round?

Vacuum your mattress to get rid of dust, debris, and pet dander. This is something you can do every couple of weeks, not just when cleaning the mattress. Dust and dust mites can trigger or worsen asthma and allergies. Some people are allergic to dust mites without even realizing it.

Use a waterproof mattress cover and a fitted sheet. This will not only protect the mattress from dust and spills but also make cleaning easier.

              • Can I clean my mattress with vinegar?

If your mattress has no stains, you may use white vinegar or baking soda to freshen it up after vacuuming. This step is optional, but it can help remove odors and eliminate moisture.

              • How to clean a mattress with vinegar?

Spray a small amount of white vinegar over the mattress to get rid of persistent odors. Use a paper towel to remove excess moisture. Let it dry and then apply baking soda.

              • How to clean a mattress with baking soda?

Sprinkle a layer of baking soda over your mattress and rub it gently with your hands. Mix the baking soda with a few drops of essential oil if desired. Leave it for 30 minutes or longer and then vacuum the mattress again. Note don’t use both products at the same time, as they will cancel each other out.

              • How to disinfect and sanitize the mattress?

If you buy a used mattress, sanitize it immediately. Even if your mattress looks clean, you should still disinfect it to freshen it up and reduce bacteria.

Follow these steps to disinfect and sanitize your mattress:

              1. Remove your mattress from the bed and place it next to a wall.
              2. Spray the surface of the mattress. Repeat on the other side.
              3. Let it dry for a few hours.
              4. Use a fan or blow dryer to speed things up.
              • What does rolled mattress mean?

A rolled up mattress is a mattress that has been specially designed to be rolled & vacuum packed. Rolled up mattresses deliver great support and comfort whilst also having the convenience of being easily transportable.

              • What does roll pack mattress mean?

A roll pack mattress is a mattress that has been specially designed to be rolled & vacuum packed. Rolled up mattresses deliver great support and comfort whilst also having the convenience of being easily transportable.

              • Can rolling a mattress damage it?

The process of manufacturing and packing a Rolled Up Mattress causes no damage at all. The process typically involves compressing your mattress, and using a vacuum to compress the mattress to approximately 10-25% of its original size.

The foam sleeping surface improves over the first couple of months due to foam cell structure becoming less resilient and slightly softer. The short amount of time that the rolled up mattress is compressed will actually speed up this process, improving the feel of the foam over time.

              • How long before you can sleep on a rolled mattress?

Although most roll-up mattresses will expand within an hour, they usually take up to 8 hours to be ready for use. Aspects such as fillings and size all affect the amount of time it takes a roll-up mattress to expand. In some circumstances, mattresses can take up to 24 hours to regain their original shape.

              • Are spring mattresses delivered rolled up?

Some spring mattresses can be rolled up and the main answer for this is cost and storage space.

              • Are roll-up mattresses as good as non-rolled up mattresses?

Roll up mattresses come in a variety of different styles and comfort levels, meaning there really is something suitable for everyone. Open springs can be compressed in much the same way as foam.

              • Do you sell any rolled mattresses?

              • What are the benefits of a rolled up mattress?

Many mattresses do not reach their optimum levels of comfort until they have been used for a few months. This is because materials need to settle and soften. A rolled mattress does not need such a long settling in time. In fact, a rolled mattress could be at its best on the very first sleep because the rolling process can help to soften materials. However, this does not in any way compromise the durability or quality of a rolled mattress. It’s just one of those situations where it works well straight out of the box.

              • Are rolled mattresses good for the planet?

Roll-up mattresses are an environmentally friendly way to deliver mattresses. The compressed nature of the mattress means that the product uses less packaging. They can also reduce the amount of time that a delivery vehicle is on the road, as more of these mattresses can fit into a delivery vehicle at the same time.

              • What should I consider when buying a mattress?

Focus on comfort and support. Don't look for one mattress that is the best for everyone. Find the right size for your needs. Come to our factory and test the mattress to determine your level of comfort and ask advice from our experts.

              • What mattresses are best for back pain?

In general, the latex mattresses are often considered the best options for back pain, as they conform to your body, cradling pressure points while supporting your spine and keeping it aligned.

              • What mattresses are best for allergies?

While traditional coil or foam mattresses offer plenty of nooks and crannies for dust mites to set up shop, mattresses made of dense memory foam or latex foam may offer a more protective effect where dust mites won’t be able to thrive.

              • What mattresses are best for overheating?

Latex is one of the best materials available for keeping hot sleepers cool. It is naturally breathable and allows air to circulate far better. Hybrid mattresses can also be a great choice to ensure a cool nights sleep.

              • What is the best mattress for Side sleepers?

Memory Foam Mattress is one of the best types of mattresses for side sleepers. It contours to your body shape, relieving pressure points and keeping your spinal alignment when you're lying on your side. Side sleepers should also consider a soft mattress because it provides pressure relief to your shoulder and hip joints.

              • What is the best mattress for back sleepers?

If you're a back-sleeper, a medium-firm mattress is a good choice because it prevents the heavier portions of the body from dropping too deep into the mattress, so it limits over-flexion of the spine while still cushioning your shoulders, hips, and lower back.

              • What is the best mattress for front- or stomach sleepers?

The best mattress for front- or stomach-sleepers is a pocket sprung mattress. Pocket sprung mattresses keep your spine in natural alignment, help distribute body weight evenly and ensure every potential pressure point is soothed.

               Part IV: Advanced Mattress Guide

              • What is a Mattress Coil Gauge?

The coil gauge is a measure of the thickness of the wire used to make the coil. The lower the gauge, the thicker the wire, and the higher the gauge, the thinner the wire. On average, the coil gauge in a mattress range from 12 to 15.

If you have a lower gauge coil, it will be stronger, heavier, and stiffer, and likely result in a firmer support.

If you prefer more give and bounce in a mattress, you may prefer a higher gauge coil.

Although the coil gauge is a good indication of the quality of the coils in the mattress, other factors such as the quality of the foams used in the top layers are equally as important, because those parts typically wear out much faster than the coil system in the mattress.

              • What are Foam Density Ratings?

The foam density ratings of a mattress measure the weight of the foam per cubic square foot. This translates to the quality of the foam used.

Many people associate foam density with the stiffness or hardness of the foam, but this is not the case. Firmness of the foam is a factor of ILD which we cover next.

Many foams can be of a higher density but still feel soft. When it comes to the most common type of foam used in a mattress, polyfoam, the average foam density you should look for is 1.8 lbs./ft³. Anything less than that will be of lesser quality, and anything more will have increased durability and more suitable for heavier people.

When it comes to memory foam, a density of 4 lbs./ft³ is the average. Keep in mind that when you increase in foam density, the foam will be heavier, and the mattress will most likely be more expensive, but it will last longer and break down less over time.

              • What is foam ILD?

Foam ILD stands for Indentation Load Deflection, and it is the measure of the stiffness or how much force is needed to compress the foam.

The higher the ILD, the harder the foam, and a lower ILD rating translates to a softer plush foam. Foam used in mattresses ranges from a 16.5 ILD for Plush, and over 44 ILD for Extra-Firm.

The ILD rating alone however is not a good indication of the firmness of a mattress. A thin piece of foam with a high ILD may feel softer than a thicker piece of foam with a lower ILD. This is because when measuring ILD a standard test is performed using a 4” thick piece of foam and measured when compressing the foam by 1”. Thicker pieces of foam provide more support than thinner pieces.

Unless you are a mathematician, it is best to try the mattress in store to get a true idea of the firmness.

              • What is the difference between Dunlop and Talalay Latex?

The difference between Dunlop and Talalay Latex Foam is the process used to turn liquid latex into a hardened foam.

In the Dunlop process, latex is poured into a mold and hardened in the oven. It is then washed and dried to create the final product. It is much more energy efficient than the Talalay process.

The Talalay process involves pouring the liquid latex half  full into a mold and then expanding it by vacuum pressure. Once expanded, the latex is frozen and pumped with carbon dioxide, then the temperature is raised to complete the hardening process. It is also then washed and dried to create the final product.

The difference between Dunlop and Talalay Latex are very minimal and hard to differentiate. There are many other factors that determine the quality and firmness of the foam other than the way it was manufactured using the Dunlop or Talalay methods.

              • What is the difference between natural and synthetic latex?

The difference between natural and synthetic latex is the amount of fillers used to produce the final product.

Fillers are used to cut down on the cost of latex foam, and to ensure the final product is more consistent in quality and firmness. Manufacturers use synthetic latex to ensure that each mattress feels consistent and to cut down the cost of the final product.

Natural latex although can still use filler, will have way less than synthetic latex. Always look to see if it is 100% natural latex or only 50% natural latex. Mattresses that are made with 100% natural latex may feel different from one mattress to the other as the lack of fillers prevents consistency but ensures the most pure and natural product.

              • What are the different types of Memory Foam in a mattress?

There are 3 basic types of memory foam used in mattresses.

The first is Traditional Memory foam. Traditional memory foam reduces pressure on various joints in your body and increase circulation while you sleep. It is the most basic type of memory foam.

Air Cool Memory Foam introduces an open cell structure which makes the memory foam more breathable and helps it to whisk away heat from your body, so you don’t get too hot while sleeping.

Gel memory foam introduces even better cooling properties by blending the memory foam with gel which helps disperse heat quicker and more efficiently. Gel memory foam can also be blended with gel beads which further enhance the cooling process. Gel memory foam is also the most durable compared to the other types.

              • What is a Foam Encasement on a mattress?

A foam encasement is a border or perimeter of foam which surrounds the coils in the mattress. It is used to hold the coils securely in the mattress.

A foam encasement will help prevent you from rolling off the side of your bed when you get to the edge. A foam encasement can also create a more stable and secure seating edge of the mattress.

When you sit on the edge of the mattress you will not feel the coils and it will provide you with more support. You will also not feel the coils on the side of the bed. Lastly, a foam encasement will help a mattress work with an adjustable bed as it eliminates the need for a wire frame around your coils.

Most coil mattresses that are adjustable bed friendly will have some sort of foam encasement.

              • Which mattresses are suitable for an adjustable bed?

Adjustable beds are becoming more and more popular as they allow you to raise the head and foot of the mattress to create a more comfortable seating environment when you are reading a book, watching tv, or just want to prop yourself up for comfort.

Most mattresses that are made entirely out of foam or contain pocket coils are adjustable bed friendly. If the mattress is flexible enough and does not contain a stiff wire perimeter it should work with an adjustable bed. Always check the specifications of a mattress to ensure that it is suitable to work with an adjustable bed.

If the mattress is not meant to work with an adjustable bed, you could ruin the coils and void your warranty.

              • What Is Certi-PUR® certified foam?

Certi-PUR® certified foam is free of heavy metals, ozone depletions, formaldehyde, and certain phthalates. Compared to other types of memory foam, it releases lower amounts of volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Therefore, it’s safer for your health and the environment.

              Part V: About Mattress Accessories

              • Do I have to buy a bedframe for my mattress?

You do not technically need a bedframe for your new mattress. A mattress can lay directly on the floor, or on a box spring on the floor. If the mattress is properly laid on a flat supportive surface, you will not cause any damage to your mattress.

A bed frame however does bring your mattress higher off the floor making it easier to get in and out of bed. A bed frame also allows air to circulate under your mattress helping you to sleep cooler. A metal bed frame is an inexpensive way to get your mattress off the floor and help you sleep cooler and more comfortably!

              • What's the difference between a Bed Frame, Box Spring and Platform Bed?

Your mattress needs to lay flat on a supportive surface to avoid damage and to ensure it feels good when sleeping on it.

If you have a platform bed or a bed with slats that is supportive enough, you can rest your mattress directly on top.

You can use a box spring if you require additional height. A box spring can lay on the floor or on top of a bed frame.

By using a bed frame, you will elevate your mattress off the ground which makes it easier to get in and out of bed. It will also provide additional air circulation under your mattress to help you sleep cooler at night!

              • What is a box spring?

A traditional box spring is a wooden frame, about 5 or 9 inch, which contains coils that support the mattress above. The support of a box spring helps prevent sagging or uneven support to the mattress above.

              • What is a foundation?

A foundation is a wooden, metal, or composite frame that uses solid wood framing to support the weight of the mattress above. The supports can also be made from metal or composite materials. It’s rigid and does not contain springs.

              • Types of foundations?

Two of the main types of foundations include full profile foundations (7"), low-profile foundations (4").

              • What are full profile foundations?

A full profile foundation thickness is 7” and is a good option if you want to add height to your bed.

              • What are low-profile foundations?

If you want support, but not the extra height, a low-profile foundation could be a good option. Low-profile foundations have the same wooden box frame, but the total height is shallower—typically 4” would be considered low-profile.

              • What are slats?

A type of bed base that you put your mattress on. Frames use wooden or metal slats that are individually spread across the length of the mattress. This would include wooden products that are virtually flat, but still provide support for the mattress above.

              • When do I need a box spring or foundation?

A box spring or foundation is required when the manufacturer requires it, when your frame requires it, when you want the extra height.

              • What are the different types of pillows?

There are many different types of pillows. The most common pillows are stuffed with either a synthetic fiber or feathers. Memory Foam pillows come in various shapes and sizes and can be made from many small memory foam pieces or just a solid memory foam block. They can have gel pads on top of the foam, be infused with gel or perforated to help keep the pillow cool. Pillows also come in various sizes and thicknesses.

Many people with neck problems prefer a thinner pillow while others prefer a thicker luxurious pillow.

Pillows are as unique as you are, so it is best to try out as many different pillows before deciding on which one is best for you!

              • Do I need a mattress protector?

Mattress protectors are a great way to protect your mattress from stains and moisture which will help preserve your investment. We all sweat at night so preventing excess moisture from penetrating into your mattress is always a good idea.

If you have children or pets, a mattress protector will also protect your mattress from unfortunate accidents. Fitted sheet style mattress protectors go over the top of your mattress and they are easy to take off and wash.

Full zippered mattress encasements are great for protecting your mattress from bed bugs as they zip all around the mattress.

Since mattress protectors are waterproof, they are not very breathable. This takes away from the cooling benefits your mattress may have. However, there are a lot of options on the market for protectors which claim to be more breathable using special technology to allow them to also be waterproof!

              • How do I choose a pillow to go with my new mattress?

Pillows are very personal items and it is difficult to recommend a good pillow without trying it out first.

Pillows range in styles, firmness levels, and thicknesses. Your ideal pillow will ultimately depend on your preferences whether you like a foam pillow or a feather pillow, whether you like a soft pillow or firmer pillow, and whether you like a thick pillow or a thin pillow.

If you are buying a pillow with your new mattress it is best to try the pillow on the mattress you have decided on. The same pillow may feel different on a different mattress based on many factors. There is no need for a pillow fight, just try out different pillows and see which one works best for you!

              Part IX: Post Purchase

              • How do I prepare for a mattress delivery?

Finally, the brand-new mattress you have ordered is scheduled to arrive at your house! That good night’s sleep you have been dreaming about it literally around the corner! It is important to prepare your home adequately so that your mattress gets delivered quickly and safely.

Firstly, ensure that you have enough space for the delivery personnel to bring in your new mattress. A mattress is a big piece of furniture to bring into your house so removing as many obstacles will only make the delivery safer and easier for everyone. If the mattress is going up the stairs, it is a good idea to take off any pictures off the walls. Chances are the delivery personnel will have to squeeze the mattress up the stairs and they might brush the walls. Ensure that you have made room for your new mattress in the desired bedroom.

              • Why does my mattress feel firmer than the one I tried in the store?

In almost every situation, your mattress will feel firmer than the one you tried in the store. This is because floor models have been on display for weeks or even months and many people have already tried them before you. The mattresses on display are already broken into and the one you are receiving is brand new!

It is like breaking in a new pair of shoes. They may feel stiff and uncomfortable at first, but if you wear them out a couple of times, they start to feel more comfortable.

Give your new mattress a few nights or even a week or two to break in, it will soften up a little and feel exactly how you remember in the mattress showroom.

              • Should I exchange or return my mattress?

We offer a return and exchange policy if you are unhappy with your new mattress. This is great peace of mind knowing that if you did not make the right decision the first time, you have the option of picking a new mattress that may be better.

The most important thing to realize is that your new mattress takes some time to break in, and your body takes some time to get used to a new mattress.

Try getting adjusted to your new mattress for as long as possible, within the exchange or return period. If you rush your return or exchange too early, you are not giving yourself enough time to realize what you actually need which will make it more difficult to choose another mattress that is more suitable to your needs. Be patient, and don’t rush the process!

              • What about my mattress warranty?

Sunny Homeplus' mattresses you purchased usually offer a 5-10-year warranty on any defects in materials and craftsmanship. That is an exceptionally long time that your investment is protected in case something goes wrong.

A mattress warranty usually covers defects that involve the coils or the core of the mattress. Although warranties can range from manufacturer to manufacturer, they typically cover any sagging that is beyond the acceptable 2 inch as per the warranty. If your coils break or the mattress becomes deformed it will usually be covered.

You can contact us directly with any warranty concerns within the warranty period.

              • How do I get used to my new mattress?

You got your new mattress and slept on it the first night and your back is hurting, and you hate it! This may happen to you. Your body needs time to get adjusted to a new mattress. It is a big shock for your body as it was used to sleeping on your old mattress for so many years.

Allow your body to get adjusted to the new mattress and allow the mattress to break in and get adjusted to your body. This process may take two weeks but, in the end, it will be totally worth it.

Do not stress and enjoy the process of getting used to your new mattress!
